TURNER FISHERIES OFFERS OUTDOOR DINING FEEL WITH INDOOR DINING
CONVENIENCE
“Greenhouse”
seating area is the perfect spot
to see and be seen this summer
Boston,
MA, May 18, 2004 -- Summer is approaching, and people are looking
for places to dine under the sun. But, avoiding the elements like
rain and pests can be a challenge while feasting al fresco. Turner
Fisheries is proud to offer guests a place to eat with the feeling
of being outdoors, but with the protection of being in a semi-enclosed
area.
The “greenhouse,” a 44-seat
area to the side of the Turner’s main dining room overlooking
Dartmouth Street and Copley Square, features seven-foot high French
Café bi-fold opening windows creating a bright and sunny
lunch venue. The windows, opened out onto the street, produce
just the right amount of breeze to make diners comfortable on
the hottest of summer days. And in the evening, it’s the
perfect place for a romantic, starlit dinner.
“Outdoor
dining is extremely popular in a city as highly visited as Boston
during the summer months,” explains Chef de Cuisine Eric
Heinrich. “Everyone wants to eat outside and people-watch.
But when that unexpected rain shower or mosquito comes, it’s
nice that we can offer guests a place where they can feel like
they’re eating outdoors and avoid the elements that make
actually being outside a nuisance.”
Turner
Fisheries “greenhouse” comfortably holds large parties
and is an ideal place to host small, social gatherings. While
enjoying the tradition of outdoor dining in the airy “greenhouse”,
guests will relish Turner’s tradition of offering native
seafood dishes prepared with only the freshest ingredients, purchased
daily from local distributors, as well as Turner’s Hall-of-Fame
clam chowder.
The
famed Turner Fisheries has recently re-opened following a three
million-dollar renovation. The menu has been revised as well featuring
current, native seafood dishes and Turner’s Hall-of-Fame
clam chowder. The restaurant’s new design scheme includes
Terrazzo tile from Italy, floor to ceiling mahogany paneling,
Hollywood banquettes and seven-foot high French Café bi-fold
opening windows overlooking Copley Square. The most spectacular
addition is the creation of three new private dining rooms, which
can accommodate up to 140 people. Turner Fisheries is located
at the Westin Copley Place Hotel, 10 Huntington Avenue, Boston,
MA, 02116. Phone: (617) 424-7425. Visit us at www.turnersboston.com.
