WESTIN COPLEY PLACE DINING RECEIVES MULTIPLE HONORS IN “BEST
OF BOSTON” ROUND-UPS
Boston
Magazine Awards Turner Fisheries Restaurant & Bar for “Boston’s
Best Clam Chowder” while Bar 10 wins “Best Civilized
Nightcap” in the Improper Bostonian
BOSTON,
MA – August 5, 2004 – The Westin Copley Place Boston
is proud to announce that two of the hotel’s dining outlets
have won honors in the recent “Best of Boston” issues
of Boston Magazine and the Improper Bostonian.
Turner
Fisheries Restaurant and Bar was honored with the award for “Boston’s
Best Clam Chowder” by Boston Magazine readership in the
August 2004 issue. The famed seafood specialty restaurant has
been offering award-winning clam chowder for over two decades.
The chowder has been a contender of many cook-offs and taste-tests
over the years and was the first inductee into Boston Harborfest’s
Hall-of-Fame. The Hall-of-Fame position was created especially
for Turner Fisheries clam chowder after the recipe won the event
three years in a row, therefore being unable to compete in further
competitions out of fairness to other participants.
“Guests
have been singing the praises our famous clam chowder for a long,
long time,” boasts Chef de Cuisine Eric Heinrich. “There
is a lot of competition in that area around here and Bostonians
feel very strongly about their chowder. We are honored that Boston
Magazine’s readers chose us to win the award out of all
the other seafood restaurants in town and we will reward them
back by continuing to offer the best chowder in Boston.”
Additionally, Bar 10, the Westin’s
Mediterranean Bistro, was named “Best Civilized Nightcap”
in the Improper Bostonian’s 13th Annual Boston’s Best
Issue. The swanky, chic lounge has a reputation for serving a
variety of creative specialty cocktails and an extensive wine
list. Last year Bar 10 was named “Best Hotel Bar”
in Boston Magazine’s “Best Of” issue.
“We
are very grateful to the readership of these two prominent local
publications to have granted us such awards,” exclaims Vera
Manoukian, Westin General Manager. “Turner Fisheries is
a Boston tradition that has been serving the freshest, local seafood
for decades and Bar 10 is known as one of the city’s top
hot spots. We’re thrilled and honored that the public thinks
so highly of our restaurants. Getting these awards will hopefully
make hungry residents and visitors think of us next time they
are looking for a place to eat.”
